Now that spring is here, I've been craving fresh greens even more than usual. I typically eat eggs with veggies in the morning, but this smoothie is a change of pace for me. Packed vitamin C, vitamin A, and fiber, this is the perfect way to lay the foundation for a healthy day.
The banana, strawberries and vanilla protein powder mask the greens. Plus, the avocado gives the smoothie a creamy texture. I blend the smoothie in stages. First I add the strawberries and some water and blend, then the banana, avocado and more water. I add the kale and blend until smooth. Finally, I add the protein powder, cinnamon, and water and blend until it is the consistency which I enjoy.
8 strawberries, frozen
½ banana, sliced
½ avocado, pitted and peeled
Kale, 1 large handful
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I prefer Beverly U.M.P.)
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
½ - 1 cup of water
